What is it? Many countries have a legal requirement (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering Regulations) for companies to conduct ‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) checks on individuals prior to engaging with them as customers/clients. Dependent on the risk profile of the individuals the checks range from verification of identity to more enhanced enquiries including covering verification of source of wealth.
